ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Life Prep Academy welcomes students in Grades 6–12 to its U.S. study abroad pathway and American high school diploma program in Vietnam.

Vietnamese families and students submit their applications through Life Prep Academy Vietnam International School, the school’s official representative office in Vietnam. The office directly manages application processing, entrance assessments, scholarship evaluation, and provides guidance throughout the entire enrollment process.

Admission Requirements

Age Requirement:
Students must be between 11 and 17 years old, corresponding to Grades 6–11 at the time of application.

Academic Performance:
A minimum academic average of 7.5/10 or equivalent is required.

English Proficiency:
Students are required to complete Life Prep Academy’s English proficiency assessment or submit internationally recognized English test scores (such as IELTS, TOEFL, DET, PTE, or equivalent) if available.

Scholarship Interview:
Applicants seeking scholarship consideration participate in an interview with the Admissions Committee and Academic Director.

Health Requirements:
Students must meet health examination and vaccination requirements before enrollment in the United States.

Life Prep Academy follows a holistic admissions approach, evaluating each applicant based on academic performance, English proficiency, personal qualities, academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and overall fit with the school’s educational environment.

STEP 1

Submit an Application

Required Application Materials

Students applying to Life Prep Academy are required to submit the following documents:

  • Application Form
  • Middle School/High School Transcripts
  • Birth Certificate
  • National Identification Card
  • Passport

Additional Recommended Materials

To help the Admissions Committee gain a more comprehensive understanding of each applicant’s abilities and to support scholarship consideration, students are encouraged to submit additional materials, including:

  • English proficiency certificates (SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, DET, PTE, or equivalent), if available
  • Certificates, awards, or recognitions in academics, scientific research, arts, athletics, or community service
  • Student Resume
  • Personal Essay

Personal Essay (250–500 words in English)

Applicants should choose ONE of the following prompts:

Scholarship Essay
Explain why you believe you deserve a scholarship at Life Prep Academy. Include your academic achievements, personal strengths, leadership experiences, extracurricular involvement, and any challenges you have overcome.

Life Goals Essay
Describe your academic interests, future career goals, and the values or contributions you hope to bring to your community and society.

Scholarship applications are reviewed together with admission applications. Students are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.

STEP 2

Placement Assessment & Interview

After receiving the application materials, students will participate in a comprehensive evaluation process, which includes:

  • English proficiency assessment
  • Interview with the Admissions Committee and Academic Director

The interview is designed to better understand each student’s academic abilities, personal goals, readiness to adapt to an American educational environment, and overall alignment with Life Prep Academy’s educational philosophy.

STEP 3

Admission & Scholarship Review

The Admissions Committee conducts a comprehensive evaluation based on the following criteria:

  • Academic records
  • Entrance assessment results
  • Academic achievements and extracurricular involvement
  • Personal Essay
  • Student Resume
  • Interview performance

Students who meet the scholarship criteria will be considered for scholarship awards as part of the admissions process.

Admission decisions and scholarship results include:

  • Letter of Admission
  • Scholarship Award Letter, if applicable

STEP 4

Enrollment Confirmation

After receiving the Letter of Admission, families complete the following enrollment requirements:

  • Confirm enrollment
  • Sign the required enrollment documents
  • Submit tuition payment according to the terms outlined in the enrollment materials
  • Complete all remaining enrollment procedures as instructed by the school

STEP 5

U.S. Student Visa Support

For students enrolling at Life Prep Academy in the United States, the school provides guidance and support after enrollment confirmation, including:

  • Issuing the Form I-20
  • Providing guidance on completing the U.S. F-1 Student Visa application process
  • Assisting families with required government fee payments according to U.S. regulations
  • Supporting visa interview scheduling when needed
  • Providing guidance on preparing the required documents and materials for the visa interview process

STEP 6

Pre-Departure & Orientation

Before the start of the academic year, students and families participate in an orientation program designed to help students prepare for their academic journey, residential life, and transition to studying in the United States.

The orientation program includes:

  • Pre-departure guidance and travel preparation, including packing recommendations
  • Arrival procedures, immigration guidance, and airport pickup at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT)
  • Information about international student responsibilities under the F-1 visa program and regulations established by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)
  • Important Do’s and Don’ts for academic success, daily life, and cultural adjustment in the United States
  • School policies, residential life expectations, and codes of conduct
  • American school culture, personal safety, and adaptation to a multicultural environment
  • Academic systems, assessment methods, and the school’s expectations for student learning
  • Information about dormitory life, healthcare services, health insurance, and student support resources
  • Opportunities to connect with teachers, academic advisors, residential staff, and the International Student Support team
